Dr. Malja is a highly skilled Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) and Registered Acupuncturist with a specialized focus on women’s health; with in depth knowledge on infertility and metabolic disorders such as diabetes. With years of clinical experience, she is committed to bridging the gap between ancient healing traditions and modern medical science to provide comprehensive, natural healthcare solutions. At the core of her practice is a deep passion for empowering individuals to take control of their health. She believes that true wellness comes from understanding and supporting the body’s natural rhythms, and she works closely with her patients to create personalized treatment plans that restore balance, optimize fertility, and improve overall vitality.

Dr. Malja’s passion for health started at a young age. After high school, she studied Wholistic Training Health Institute of Massage Therapy in Edmonton, graduating in 2016. Furthering her education in natural health, she enrolled at The Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Calgary, Alberta. This began her journey of studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture techniques such as cupping, guasha, moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, and herbology. After graduating with diplomas in massage therapy, acupuncture and a doctorate in Chinese Medicine in 2021, she relocated back to Fort McMurray to provide holistic care for her community.

Malja’s expertise extends beyond acupuncture—she integrates herbal medicine, nutritional therapy, and lifestyle coaching to address the root causes of health concerns rather than just treating symptoms. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based strategies, ensuring that her patients receive the best of both traditional and modern healing methods.

Stephanie Chiasson is an Occupational Therapist with a heart for healing and a passion for helping people reconnect with who they truly are. Since 2017, she has supported children, families, and adults through mental health challenges, chronic pain, disability, trauma, and life transitions. Her approach is deeply holistic — blending evidence-based OT, nervous system–informed care, mindset work, and gentle, practical strategies that support whole-person wellness.

Graduating from the University of Ottawa with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, Stephanie has developed extensive experience in mental health, behavioral activation, long-term disability, concussion and whiplash rehabilitation, and ergonomic assessment. Her clients often describe her as intuitive, grounding, and “the person who finally gets it.”

Stephanie’s work is shaped not only by her clinical expertise, but also by her own healing journey. Having navigated childhood trauma (C-PTSD), mental health challenges, chronic pain, ADHD, PCOS, and the aftermath of injury, she understands firsthand what it feels like to live in survival mode — and what it takes to rise from it. This lived experience fuels her compassion, deepens her perspective, and allows her to create a therapeutic space where clients feel truly seen, safe, and supported.

As a fully bilingual clinician, Stephanie offers services in both French and English, ensuring that families can access care in the language where they feel most comfortable, understood, and empowered. Her ability to seamlessly switch between languages helps build strong relationships, enhance communication, and create a culturally safe environment for all clients.

Stephanie integrates her professional and personal knowledge through her practice, The Holistic OT Sanctuary — a space built on three pillars:

Compassion: meeting every person with empathy, safety, and attunement.

Empowerment: helping clients reclaim confidence, identity, and self-leadership.

Holistic Wellness: supporting the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected parts of healing.

Whether she is supporting a child’s regulation and sensory needs, guiding adults through mindset shifts, or helping families build resilience together, Stephanie’s mission remains the same: to help people break cycles, find clarity, and heal with confidence and compassion.

If you are ready to create meaningful change in your life — physically, mentally, or emotionally — Stephanie will walk beside you with warmth, wisdom, and evidence-based tools. You don’t have to do this alone. Healing is possible, and you deserve support.

Hello, I’m Deborah and I’ve been a massage therapist since 2003. As a young child I always found myself massaging my family members which continued on into my teen years when you could usually find me massaging a friend’s shoulders, hands or feet. So, when a friend suggested it as a career I knew I had found my calling and I haven’t looked back since.

Early on in my career I found myself deeply focused on the physical and structural aspect of health in the human body, thinking if I could ease the tension or pain from these areas then the body would find its way back to health. But as I began my own healing journey, half way through my career, I began to see that the human system was as vast and deep as the universe we inhabit. I began to see how supporting a client through a “mind-body-soul” approach, opened up new ways my clients could access health and healing within their systems.

Though I have taken many modalities over the years and I love to perform traditional deep tissue/therapeutic massages I found myself drawn to more unique therapies that focus on areas of the system that receive less recognition like the “FJNS” massage, Spinal Rejuvenation Massage and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

Besides my role as a massage therapist you may also find me guiding a yin yoga or deep meditation class here at Sitka.

Outside of work you can find me curled up with a good book, embracing my witchy side with crafting and hosting classes, or exploring the outdoors. Of course, you can also find me enjoying time with my husband and 2 kids or coffee with a friend. We only get one life to live and everyday I am learning to love each and every experience whether that’s time for myself or time with others.

Fort McMurray has been my home since I was 6 years old and I can’t wait to continue to support this community on this new journey.

I’m Heather McLeod! I’ve been a Massage Therapist since 2019 here in Fort McMurray. My original career path in the arts led me to study the human body, and I was fascinated to learn what made the body tick. I loved the concept that something as basic as touch can help ease another’s pain.

My route thus far has been a ‘jack of all trades’; I am always looking for new ways to learn and new ways to help all who step into my treatment room.

It’s exciting to watch the progress of my clients as they take back their health. I look forward to all the new faces and challenges that Sitka has to offer.
