Physical Therapy

We offer private one-on-one physical therapy appointments. These appointments may encompass several modalities; such as exercise therapy, manual therapy, therapeutic yoga, acupcuncture, and dry needling; and you will also receive valuable education and advice to aid with your recovery.

Pelvic Health

Pelvic health physical therapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy involving the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor and deep core muscles. This area of physical therapy deals with pelvic floor conditions including pelvic pain, painful intercourse, prolapse, recovery pre-/post- pregnancy and surgery, urinary incontinence including urgency and frequency, and diastasis rectus abdominus.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins – the body’s natural pain-relieving neurohormones – through the insertion of needles into specific anatomical points (acupuncture points) to encourage natural healing. Therapeutic effects include: pain relief, increased energy, improved mood, and improved body function.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a hands-on treatment that helps relieve tension, reduce pain, and promote overall wellness. Using a combination of techniques, including deep tissue, myofascial release, and relaxation massage, our registered massage therapists (RMTs) tailor each session to meet your unique needs.

Massage Therapy with Hot Stones

Hot stone massage therapy is a therapeutic treatment that combines traditional massage techniques with the use of heated basalt stones to enhance relaxation and relieve muscle tension. The smooth, heated stones are placed on key points of the body and used by the therapist to massage muscles with gentle to deep pressure. Pediatric Massage Therapy

Pediatric massage therapy is a gentle, nurturing treatment designed specifically for infants, children, and adolescents. Using light, soothing strokes and age-appropriate techniques, this therapy helps promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support healthy growth and development.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body. This specialized therapy helps reduce swelling, promote detoxification, and support the immune system by encouraging the natural drainage of lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues and toward the lymph nodes.

Cupping

Cupping massage therapy is a therapeutic technique that combines traditional massage with suction cups to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and support healing. I’m Heather McLeod! I’ve been a Massage Therapist since 2019 here in Fort McMurray. My original career path in the arts led me to study the human body, and I was fascinated to learn what made the body tick. I loved the concept that something as basic as touch can help ease another’s pain.

My route thus far has been a ‘jack of all trades’; I am always looking for new ways to learn and new ways to help all who step into my treatment room.

It’s exciting to watch the progress of my clients as they take back their health. I look forward to all the new faces and challenges that Sitka has to offer.
